What is Playable MCP?

Written by Asta Dybdal

Playable MCP connects your AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your Playable account. Once it's connected, you can ask the assistant in plain language to find your campaigns, explain how they're performing, and build and style draft campaigns for you.

What does "MCP" mean?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to other software. You can think of it as a plug: Playable provides the socket, and any AI tool that supports MCP can plug into it.

You don't need to know anything technical to use it. After a one-time setup, you just chat with your assistant as usual, and it uses Playable when your request needs it.

What can I do with it?

Here are a few things you can ask for:

  • Understand your results. "How did Summer Wheel 2026 do last week compared with the week before? Where do participants drop off?"

  • Start a new campaign. "I want to grow our newsletter list before Black Friday. Suggest a game concept and create a draft from a fitting template."

  • Build and edit pages. "On the welcome page, add a headline, a short intro text and a 'Play now' button."

  • Apply your brand. "Use our 'Brand 2026' color scheme and our brand font, and put our logo at the top of every page."

  • Manage images. "Upload this image to the Summer 2026 folder in our media library and use it as the hero image."

  • Adjust the registration form. "Add an optional phone number field and a dropdown with our five store locations."

  • Polish the design. "Check that the spacing is consistent across all pages and fix anything that's off."

You'll find more examples you can copy in Tips and example prompts.

How does it keep my account safe?

  • It works as you. You log in with your own Playable user. The assistant can see and do only what you're allowed to do in Playable.

  • Your admin decides what it can do. Workspace admins choose which Playable MCP actions each role may use.

  • Live campaigns stay untouched. The assistant can read the statistics of live campaigns, but it can only change drafts that have never been live. If you want to rework a live campaign, it makes a draft copy.

  • It can't publish. Taking a campaign live is always done by a person in Playable.

What it doesn't do (yet)

Playable MCP is focused on campaign content, design and results. The game itself (for example quiz questions or wheel segments), prizes, emails, integrations and publishing are still set up in the Playable editor. The assistant also can't see individual participants or their personal data. See the full list in What Playable MCP can and can't do.

Why use it?

  • Get a first draft fast. Go from an idea to a styled draft campaign in one conversation, then fine-tune it in the editor.

  • Skip repetitive work. Rewording copy across ten pages, translating a campaign, or making spacing consistent is quicker to ask for than to click through.

  • Ask your data questions in plain language. No need to dig through dashboards to compare periods, devices or traffic sources.

What do I need?

  1. Permission to use Playable MCP on your user role. Your workspace admin sets this up.

  2. An AI tool that supports custom MCP connectors, such as Claude or ChatGPT. Some plans of these tools require an admin to allow custom connectors first.
