What Playable MCP can and can't do

This article lists what your AI assistant can do in Playable today, and what you still do in the Playable editor. We add new abilities regularly, so this list will change.

Written by Asta Dybdal

Two rules apply everywhere:

  • The assistant only works within your permissions. If your role can't do something in Playable, the assistant can't do it either. Your admin can also switch off individual Playable MCP actions for your role.

  • Only drafts can be changed. A campaign that is live, or has ever been live (including paused and expired campaigns), is read-only for the assistant. It can still read its content and statistics, and it can make an editable draft copy for you.

Campaigns

The assistant can

Do this in Playable instead

List and search your campaigns by name, type and status

Publish, schedule, pause or take a campaign offline

Show which campaign types your plan includes

Delete, archive or rename a campaign

Recommend a campaign concept and game types for a marketing objective (awareness, engagement, acquisition, retention or loyalty)

Change a campaign's start and end dates

Create a new draft from a template, optionally with your color scheme and font

Create a blank campaign from scratch (the assistant always starts from a template or a copy)

Copy any campaign as a new draft, optionally including voucher codes

Pages and sections

The assistant can

Do this in Playable instead

List pages in the flow, sections and popovers

Set visibility rules on a page (for example "only show to winners")

Read a page's full content and give you a preview link

Change page container width or column gap

Add, rename, show or hide (per device), reorder and delete pages

Move content blocks from one page to another

Add and delete rows of columns

Change the number of columns in an existing row (add a new row instead)

Edit pages that reuse a global section (edit the global section instead)

Some campaign types have fixed rules for page order, for example that the registration page must come before the game on instant win games. The assistant will tell you if a new order isn't allowed.

Content blocks (add-ons)

The assistant can add, edit, move within a page and delete these content blocks:

Headline, Text, Image, Button, Divider, Icon, Countdown, Slider, Slideshow and the Registration form.

All other blocks (for example Video, Social share, Accordion, Map, Leaderboard, Prizes, HTML and the game itself) are added and edited in the editor. The assistant can remove them, but it can't add or change them.

It can also set enter animations on the blocks it supports.

Registration form

The assistant can

Do this in Playable instead

List, add, edit, reorder and remove form fields

Add the registration form to a page (the assistant can edit it once it's there)

Set a field's label, placeholder, default value, required and visible settings

Set validation rules on a field

Set the options of dropdown and radio fields

Change a field's type (delete it and add a new one instead)

Remove protected fields: the email field, locked fields, and fields used by a leaderboard, a participation limit, a visibility condition or an email integration

Design

The assistant can

Do this in Playable instead

Set campaign-wide colors, font, buttons, logo, background and content width, separately for desktop and mobile

Edit the font styles (heading, body, link and form text styles)

Link one of your saved color schemes

Use gradients, shadows or video backgrounds

Use your workspace fonts or Google Fonts

Add a new custom font (add it under your account's appearance settings first)

Style sections: background color or image, overlay, divider and padding

Style rows and columns: background color, border, padding and content alignment

Set different section, row or column styling for mobile

Set a background image on a row or column

Media library

The assistant can

Do this in Playable instead

Browse and search your media library, and look at an image

Rename, move or delete files and folders

Upload a file from a public web address

Upload a file it has in the conversation, when your AI tool can run code (for example Claude with code execution turned on)

Create folders as part of an upload

Upload limits are the same as in Playable. For example, images can be at most 2560 × 2560 px, and PNG and JPG files at most 700 KB.

Statistics

The assistant can read statistics for any campaign you have access to, including live ones:

  • Overview: sessions, registrations, unique registrations, conversion rate, device split and link clicks (all-time)

  • Per day: sessions and registrations

  • Game funnel: how many sessions reach the registration page, start the game and complete it, per traffic source

  • Page drop-off: visits per page in the flow

  • Engagement: time spent in the campaign

  • Traffic: sources, UTM mediums and campaigns, and countries

  • Email integrations: how many records were sent to each integration

You can filter by date range, device and UTM source for most of these.

The assistant can't see individual participants, their registration data, winners, prizes won or revenue. Exporting participant data is done in Playable.

Not available through Playable MCP

  • The game setup: quiz questions and answers, wheel segments, win and lose rules

  • Prizes and vouchers

  • Emails and integrations

  • Publishing and scheduling

  • Participant data and exports

  • Undo. Deleted pages, rows and blocks can't be restored by the assistant. Deleting the registration form removes its fields, and deleting the game block removes the win and lose rules on your flow pages.
