If you want to ensure that every participant wins a prize in your Wheel of Fortune (WoF) or Spin the Bottle (StB) game, you have come to the right place. This article will guide you through the process of setting up a WoF to guarantee a 100% winner chance for all players, using bulk prizes and instant win logic.
WoF logic
The logic behind our Wheel of Fortune requires at least one loser field to avoid participants ending up in an endless loop of spinning. You can add a consolation prize, which will apply to those participants who end up on a loser field. Going forward we will refer to a consolation prize as being "game-based".
To get a 100% winner chance in a WoF, you need to start by defining the loser field(s) and keep those in mind because the corresponding image should indicate a win.
How do I set it up?
Follow up by creating a game-based unlimited bulk prize. Then you basically have a WoF with a 100% winner chance!
You can still have other bulk prizes, which means that utilising a mix between unlimited and limited is possible, as long as the game-based bulk prize is always unlimited. Below is an example of how you can create your game-based bulk prize and set up any additional prizes if needed.
Note! The only bulk prize that must be unlimited and have a 100% winner chance is the game-based bulk prize for the loser group. For the other bulk prizes, you have the freedom to decide the number of prizes and prize distribution yourself.
Step 1: Add a game-based bulk prize
You need a game-based prize to ensure that no one ends up in a loop. A game-based prize in the WoF or StB is awarded to the losers of the game.
Start by adding a bulk prize to your campaign and use the following setup:
Choose Game-Based: Will automatically be awarded to losers.
Unlimited number of prizes: To make sure you never run out of prizes this needs to be set to unlimited.
Note: You will not have to select any fields for this prize, as it will be connected to the loser field(s) that you set on the game settings page.
Step 2: Choose 100% winner chance
After adding your game-based bulk prize, you need to set it to 100% winner chance. This ensures that all participants will win this bulk prize.
For the game-based bulk prize, you can choose to disable the exclusion of earlier winners of any prize if you want to make sure that all participants win regardless of how many prizes they've won before.
Step 3: Add more bulk prizes
Start by adding a bulk prize to your campaign and use the following setup:
Choose instant win: Ensures that the prize is awarded based on the registration and not the game outcome.
Unlimited number of prizes: This example uses an unlimited number of prizes.
Choose fields: Pick the fields that should be connected to the bulk prize. Make sure you choose the correct fields with a corresponding winner image.
Step 4: Choose winner percentage
After adding your bulk prize, you need to choose a winner percentage. This depends on your preferences and how many participants you want to win this particular bulk prize. In this example, we chose 50%. If you choose a percentage lower than 100%, it leaves an opportunity to win the game-based prize, which will pick up any remaining participants who did not win this bulk prize.
In addition, you can disable the exclusion of earlier winners of any prize if you want the participant to be able to win the prize even if they have already won another prize.
Tip! You can add up to 24 other bulk prizes, as long as the game-based prize has a 100% winner chance.
Step 5: Place the 100% bulk prize at the bottom
Now you have set up your bulk prizes with a guarantee of 100% winner chances! It should look something like this:
Best practice is to place the game-based, unlimited, and 100% winner chance bulk prize at the bottom. That is because the platform checks if there are any available prizes on the instant win prizes before moving on to the game-based. So to make the overview more simple, we recommend placing the game-based bulk prize at the bottom!
Note! Participants will never win the game-based prize if any of the bulk prizes above it have a 100% winner chance.
Testing the bulk prizes
Once you have added (all) your bulk prizes, it is advisable to thoroughly test the prize flow. Test by playing the game to an end on the demo version. Read more here: How to test your bulk prizes.
