Written by Andreas Grosen

Are you looking to set age restrictions for participation on your campaign - Perhaps to ensure that all individuals are over 18 or simply due to legal requirements? Whatever the reason may be, this article will guide you through implementing the age gate addon to your campaign!

What is the Age Gate Addon for?

The age gate addon lets you control who can access your campaign by asking visitors to confirm their age. You can easily set an age limit, restricting participants based on the year and/or month they enter. This way, you can ensure that only the appropriate audience can access your campaign.

Where can I add the Age Gate Addon?

You can add the age gate on any flow page by following these steps:

  1. Go to your desired flow page

  2. Open the row

  3. Open the column

  4. Click on Add new block

  5. Go to Addons

  6. Select Age Gate

Types of age gate

There are three different types of the age gate addon.

  1. Type year (slider): The participant will enter the year they were born. Additionally, you can require the user to input both year, month, and date. The slider function will ask the participant to enter the year first, slide to month afterward, and finally slide to day.

  2. Type year: The participant will enter the year, month, and day they were born all at once.

  3. Accept year: Have the participant accept that they are above the age you have set.

Insert date value into registration fields

If you want to save a participant's date values from the age gate addon, you can transfer the date values to your registration form. All you have to do is follow these steps:

  1. Go to your registration form, add a hidden field, and give it a name.

  2. Go back to your age gate addon and select the hidden field under date value.

Now the values from the age gate will be transferred to the given registration, which also means that you can map the values to your integration.

Where can I edit the headlines?

You can edit the headlines for all age gate types under the tab Labels. Depending on the type of age gate you have chosen, the amount of labels can vary and differentiate.
