Under Game settings > Campaigns, you can connect game campaigns to your campaign link. This is also where you will set up visibility control and control completion behaviour.

In the above overview, you have the following options:

  • Add a new campaign: you can only add a game that you have already created, but the game does not have to be live

  • Edit game: edit the actual game (takes you away from the campaign link)

  • Edit: Edit the settings for the game within the campaign link

  • Delete: this removes the game from Campaign Link

  • Copy a campaign: this will not copy the game itself but will include it again in Campaign Link β€” so only do this if you want participants to play the same game twice!

Campaign settings

When you click 'Edit', you will be able to control the way the game behaves in the campaign link.

We will go over all options in the sections below.

Allow a campaign to be completed more than once

Once a game is completed it cannot be played again unless you enable this setting.

πŸ’‘ Important information about this setting:

  • You can only set one image and text for the "completed" status, so if it is possible to play again, make sure this is reflected in the graphics.

  • After the game is "completed" it will stay completed, even if the player loses when they play again.

Read more about this in the Campaign Link: Design & Layout article.

Replacement tags

Replacement tags show game data from a specific game. They can be used in the completed text field or somewhere else in the campaign link flow.

πŸ’‘ Important to know about this setting:

  • The number at the beginning of the replacement tag is the campaign number for the game, so if you change the game, you have to update the replacement tag.

  • If you allow players to complete a game more than once, the replacement tag will only display the most recent game data.

Read more about replacement tags in general Campaign Link: Design & Layout article.

Conditions to complete the campaign

'Completing' a campaign refers to the status of the game in a campaign link which changes from 'active' to 'complete'.

The conditions to complete the campaign will control what it takes for the status to change.

  • Winner: The default trigger is 'winner'. This means that a player has to win the game in order to unlock the next one.

  • All: The player has to finalize the game before they can continue to the next one, but it doesn't matter if they win or lose.

  • Metric data: With metric data you can define conditions based on an outcome in a game, for example, based on a personality result or points in a skill game.

  • Prizes: If you have added bulk prizes to the campaign, you can set up a condition based on the prize.

πŸ’‘ Important to know about this setting:

The winner logic and requirement is defined in the game settings of each individual game. For example, if you have to answer 100% of questions correctly to win a quiz, you will define that under the quiz's game settings.

Campaign behavior

The campaign behavior controls what the player will see when they return to the campaign link overview from the individual game. It can be different depending on whether the campaign has been 'successfully' completed or not.

This can be different from what they will see if they leave Campaign Link and return at a later date.

πŸ’‘ Important to know about this setting:

  • The simplest option is 'go to flow page' > 'game flow' for both completed and not completed. With these settings, players will go back to the overview in the campaign link, after they finish a game campaign. If they successfully complete the game, the next game will be unlocked. If not, they can try again.

  • It is possible to create winner/loser pages in the campaign link. If you do so, you will need to link from these winner and loser pages in the campaign link back to the game flow page, for example via a button.

    • Note: This is a unique feature in the campaign link! In other game types, we do not support linking backward in the game flow.

Visibility control

Visibility control is an advanced setting that lets you restrict access to a game based on different conditions.

This does not change whether the thumbnail is visible, only if the game can be unlocked by the player. So this control does not apply to games that have already been completed.

The most common use of visibility control is to add a date range to a game, preventing access to a game before a certain date.

πŸ’‘ Important to know about this setting:

  • Be careful when setting up visibility controls β€” you may accidentally prevent players from being able to complete the Campaign Link flow.
