Summer is all about creating fun and exciting experiences, so don't miss the opportunity to utilize engaging playable campaigns to involve and entertain your event attendees this summer. Gamification can inject life into any event: it makes events engaging, encourages attendees to participate, and enhances their overall experience.

Gamification allows you to integrate the real-world experience of your event with your digital marketing campaign, resulting in better outcomes – every event planner knows that attendee engagement is the key to the success of an event!

Here are our tips and tricks for your playable event campaigns:

Before the event

  • Boost participation: Increase awareness and excitement about your event with pre-event challenges, quizzes, or games to inspire potential attendees to engage with your brand, ultimately leading to greater participation and registration.

  • Create anticipation: Use playable experiences in your pre-event marketing to build anticipation and increase engagement.

  • Gain audience insights: Don't miss the opportunity to get valuable information that can enable you to personalize your attendees’ experiences. Playable marketing can help you collect important data points to better understand your audience.

During the event

  • Enhance attendee experience: Create interactive and enjoyable experiences for attendees with games and challenges. Playable campaigns can provide opportunities for learning and entertainment, keeping your attendees engaged throughout the event, whether it is virtual or in-person.

After the event

  • Nurture your leads effectively: Create a follow-up campaign to keep your audience engaged, to deepen their brand experience and to convert them to the next phase in their customer journey with a higher conversion rate.

  • Collect data: We encourage you to use gamification to collect valuable feedback about your event after it is over. By using surveys or quizzes, you can gain insights about attendee satisfaction, preferences, and behaviour, which you can use to improve your future events and overall attendee experience.

The QR Code Renaissance

One of the most exciting aspects of playable marketing for events is the ability to incorporate QR codes into the experience. QR codes for campaigns are easy to generate on the Playable platform, easy to scan, and they provide instant access to your campaign.

Here are some possible places where you could use QR codes to direct attendees to your campaigns at events:

  • Banners: Banners and signage catch the attention of anyone walking by, and a QR code that takes them to a gamified campaign adds an element of intrigue. Attendees can scan the code to find out what new challenge awaits them.

  • Booths and exhibits: If your event includes booths and exhibits, QR codes could be placed at each booth. Attendees can scan the code for a chance to win prizes, receive discounts on products or to test their knowledge about your offerings.

  • Food trucks & drink bars: Keep your guests entertained while they queue to buy their snacks and refreshments, and boost your sales with instant-win prizes they can redeem at the counter with their purchase.

  • Presentations: QR codes can of course also be embedded into presentations! When attendees scan the code on the presentation screen, it can direct them to a playable campaign. This not only increases engagement but also helps your attendees remember the presentation.

In conclusion, playable marketing is an effective way to enhance the overall attendee experience, boost engagement, and create positive brand interactions in events. Platform tips:

If every participant use the same device to play your campaign (for example on a tablet at a tradeshow booth), remember to check the following before going live with your campaign:

✔️Remember to disable cookies in your registration form so your browser won’t save the players’ data on the form (so they won’t see each other’s information!)

✔️If you don’t collect registration data but use a hidden registration form to collect the game data or to provide instant-win prizes, remember to edit your registration & IP limits to prevent the game closing off during the event.
