IP addresses will be collected from participants via campaigns created in the Playable platform. It is not possible to disable the collection of IP addresses.

If your game contains a registration form, the IP address can be exported along with any other data collected. You can choose to exclude the IP address from the export file, if you want.

Why is the IP address collected?

Many websites capture IP addresses from visitors. This is because IP addresses are often used by back-end web developers to identify malicious site visits, helping them identify hacking attempts so they can blacklist threatening sites to protect the website’s data and traffic, making it safer for anyone visiting and using those websites — including you.

IP addresses are collected by Playable for security purposes, in order to block a participant if we can see undesirable behaviour, e.g. a bot that sends in multiple requests in a short period of time.
