If you want to give more weight to certain answers or questions in the test, you can assign more points to those answers. You can assign from -150 to 150 points to each question.
However, we recommend assigning 1 point per answer per personality unless your setup has been specifically designed to account for different point values. Assigning disproportionately high points to a single question or answer (e.g., 5 points per personality on the first question) can skew the results significantly, impacting the overall balance of the scoring system.
If your setup is tailored to incorporate different point values, this article provides examples for implementing weighted answers effectively.
Example: Vacation selector personality test
Imagine a test to determine a participant’s ideal vacation destination with the personalities of Paris, Vancouver, Grand Canyon, and Faro. In this scenario, we want the answers to the first question to carry more weight in the overall scoring logic compared to the remaining two questions. Therefore, we assign 2 points to each answer in the first question.
Questions | Answers | Points rewarded to personality |
How would you like to spend your vacation? | Shopping |
|
| Museums |
|
| Hiking |
|
| Relaxing in the sun |
|
Your ideal destination would be: | Tried and true, a popular destination |
|
| Off the beaten track, less touristy |
|
I'd prefer my destination to be | In North America |
|
| In Europe |
|
| Either is fine with me | No points awarded |
If the player answers:
Hiking
Off the beaten track, less touristy
In Europe
The points will be assigned as follows:
Hiking awards 2 points to Grand Canyon, 2 points to Faro, and 2 points to Vancouver
Off the beaten track awards 1 point to Faro and 1 point to Vancouver
In Europe: awards 1 point to Paris and 1 point to Faro
And thereby the personality with the most points will be "Faro"

You can also assign negative points if you want an answer to reduce the score for certain personalities. Consider the same personality test as before, but in this scenario, we assign negative points to some personalities while awarding positive points to others, e.g. answering shopping will result in 1 point for Paris and Vancouver but deducting 1 point for Grand Canyon.
